Concert Photography in Low-Fi Digital
One of my favourite cameras is the Mini Evo by Fujifilm. It's a hybrid digital/instant camera, combining the spontaneity of instant with the luxury of digital. Despite all the awesome settings, it is a low-fi camera with compromisable zoom, and I knew that when I decided I was going to attempt to shoot concert photos with it. I'm nothing if not creatively optimistic, even when the odds are against me. The venue was Brightside in Brisbane, and the band we went to see was Melbourne hard rock/metal band Dream on Dreamer. The first half of this set features the bands Bad Party, and Bad Juju, who I hadn't previously heard. I could have inarguably taken a better camera, but I wanted to see how the Mini Evo did in low light, with high movement. And considering its limitations, I'm actually really pleased with the fuzzy nostalgic feel.
